Pistons Vertex
Vertex pistons for 2 & 4 stroke engines
Cast or forged, which to choose and why:
The 4-stroke engines have much higher cylinder pressures than the 2-stroke engines and generally the pistons to be equipped with them are produced by hot forging.
The Vertex pistons for 4-stroke engines are hot forged from the 2618 aeronautical alloy, a very high quality product that guarantees superior strength and durability.
Vertex then applies exclusive profiles and head conformations derived from the development done with the teams, all in order to optimize power, torque and performance in general, at the same time reducing oil consumption and bleeding (blow by).
To make it easier to break in and reduce wear, each Vertex piston has a molybdenum bisulphide (MOS2) coating on the entire body of the piston.
The pistons and standard components are interchangeable with the respective OEM products.
Kits include piston, segments, pin and rings.
All the pistons undergo heat treatment with a T5 or T6 reclamation cycle.
Replacement segments are also sold individually.
